PENSTEMON ‘Blackbird’

‘Blackbird’ has gorgeous large, dark purple bell-flowers which bloom throughout the summer. Narrow, lance-shaped green foliage covers the tall upright stems beneath the racemes of flowers. It is a stunning semi-evergreen bushy, upright, easy to grow perennial.

Great for sun or partial shade providing the soil is reasonably fertile, moisture retentive and free-draining. Coastal locations, pots, containers and your borders are perfect places for ‘Blackbird’. To maintain the vigour of this perennial, deadhead as the flowers fade. Do not be tempted to cut this perennial down before the winter, leave the top growth to protect it. In spring, after the last frosts have passed, cut the plant back hard.
