Green Cone Composter

Sending your leftovers to landfill releases methane, a greenhouse gas several times more damaging than carbon dioxide.

Reduce your carbon footprint with this brilliantly simple cone composter. It uses solar power to digest all food waste, including cooked food, meat, fish, bones and dairy, converting more than 90% into nutrient rich water which will feed the surrounding soil.

Made from 100% recycled plastic, the cone consists of a double-walled chamber which retains heat, speeding up the aerobic decomposition process which takes place in an underground basket below.

The cone should be sited in a sunny, freely draining site and a hole dug to accommodate the underground digestion basket. Waste is dropped through the lid and lands in the basket where microorganisms and worms break it down. Every couple of years the small amount of residue which is produced can be emptied and dug into the garden. Correctly sited, the cone is able to digest the amount of food waste produced by an average household. The Green Cone is only suitable for food waste and does not accept garden waste or produce compost. 

The Green Cone comes with a kitchen food waste caddy and a sachet of accelerator powder (a mixture of natural bacteria on a cereal base) that is added regularly to boost the digestion process.

Made from 100% recycled plastic, the Green Cone has an expected lifespan of 10 years or more.
