This beautiful pink bears masses of clove-scented single flowers with feathery pink petals tinted dark red-pink at their base, over a blanket of narrow pale grey-green foliage. An old-fashioned variety, it deserves to be better known.  

Grow it where you will best appreciate its delicacy and scent such as the edge of a well-used path, or in pots around a favourite bench.  It looks equally good in a rockery or planted up in a trough. Dianthus ‘Old Clove’ likes to be planted in full sun in a fertile, well-drained neutral to alkaline soil.
