This is the largest flowered form of Anemone nemorosa, with soft lilac petals and deep yellow stamens, which contrast beautifully with its deeply divided mid green foliage.  

A fantastic spring plant, it makes delicious combinations with whites and yellows.  But as it is summer dormant it will disappear after flowering before returning again the following spring.  A shady border with a moisture retentive soil is the best place for this little gem.
